Sauce Boss Gazette
Volume 7 Number 3 * May 1999

WE MADE SOME BREAD THE OTHER NIGHT I say the other night--it actually took us three days. After three days of mixing, kneading, punching, adding, proofing, stirring, sponging, fermenting, letting rise, covering, rolling, and glazing, after three days of hopes and prayers, benedictions, and "whooa"˙ it was finally time to preheat. A sourdough rye bread with dates and raisins, fresh cane syrup from Bradley's country store (just a little bit). Plenty of yeast and sourdough with some "pain ordinare" for a little marbling effect. Sho' was goood!

Well, the Cyber-Neanderthal has taken another giant leap-direct selling on the Internet. The biggest news is that "Recipes" (our new Multimedia Music CD-Cookbook-Travelogue) is now available at SAUCEBOSS.COM.

But you hot sauce lovers need not despair-we also have links to two sites on our order page where you can order CD's AND Liquid Summer Hot Sauce directly on the Internet. So now you don't have to worry about when the Sauce Boss is going to get home and check his messages-the Internet store is always open for your late night orders. And if you haven't gotten a copy of "Recipes" yet-NOW is the time. They are selling like hot cakes. We've already had to re-order them. So come on down to sauceboss.com and start shoppin'.

FRANCO'S
, 12 WEST 4TH ST., WILLIAMSPORT PA 17701 (717-327-1840) francoslounge.com There's something about a little tiny kitchen. Something about crankin' out the food with everyone at close quarters. How many little places in New Orleans, New York, Paris, where space is a premium… puttin' out dinner. Good dinner! In our travels, we have found a place where the food is always cooked to perfection . . . in a little tiny kitchen. What a spread, Fred. Franco's restaurant and music club in downtown Williamsport, PA (francoslounge.com) Six booths, a shotgun bar, and three tables make this cozy little corner bar/restaurant prime for keeping the quality up. A seriously creative menu includes Italian dishes with a twist. In addition to homemade pastas and pizzas, zuppas and minestras, you might try the homemade sausage, or Blueberry-chipolte cornbread. The butters have been doctored up with all kinds of different stuff, and little touches have been added to the dishes, making them unique, and very tasty. "Ask about our homemade desserts," says the menu. OW OW OW OW OW OOOOOWWWWW!!!! Good peeps makin, good food.
