HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Where did that one go? So many cool things are happening, I lost track of the time. What a holiday season! Starting with the Freakers Ball at Skippers. (Check out the Freakers Ball Costumes. Will the real Sauce Boss please stand up?), and ending up in Jacksonville for New Year's Eve, with trips to Vegas, Orlando, and the Northeast in between, it's been a blur. Thanks to all who came and made our Holiday Tour the most successful ever
THE KING CENTER IN MELBOURNE AND JIMMY BUFFETT'S MARGARITAVILLE IN key west to begin the new year !
We are so happy to return to one of our old haunts in style. Brevard County has a special place in my heart. The folks in Melbourne and Cocoa were hip to the Sauce Boss long before the rest of the world caught up. Now we're returning to see some old friends. It's been too long, but this gig at the King Center will be a great reunion for so many. You do NOT want to miss this one.
WALDORF A LA SAUCE BOSS
Peel and cut up some apples
Throw in some raisins, walnuts, cinnamon, and mayo
If you want you can throw in some diced celery
But mostly just eat it!
JOSE'S CANTINA
800 WHITE ST. key west, Florida 305-296-4366
When you walk into a place and everybody eating is on a first name basis, (I mean EVERYBODY!) and they're all speaking in a foreign tongue, then you know you're on to something. So it is at Jose's. Although I haven't tasted the Cuban sandwich, I believe the sign that says "The best Cuban sandwich in town". I had to go for the "Special". The Oxtail stew is sublime, served with black beans, yellow rice, plantains, and bread for 7.99. That's a good price for dinner in old key west.

PLANET GUMBO IS COOKING! You can help. We need volunteers. You can call the Planet Gumbo office in Tallahassee, FL at 850-425-2805 or email. Join us!--become a planeteer . In addition to our Sauce Boss shows at homeless shelters all over the country, we have been cooking for about 150 clients at The Shelter in Tallahassee, Florida once a month. (See photo above at our December gumbo dinner.) Since we discovered Planet Gumbo two years ago, many have asked, "How can I help?" Now we have begun a grassroots movement to feed those in need. You can help. After being on the road for twenty years, I have figured out how to eat healthy, while on the run. I have cooked in motel rooms, I have cooked on picnic tables in the park, I have even thrown together meals while roaring down the expressway. For the last fifteen years my schedule has been so crazy, I have been practically homeless myself. Over that time, I have developed a few really good healthy recipes that are easy to prepare. Now I have collected these recipes and compiled a shopping list for the meals.
SO HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP.
Grab the shopping list and recipes Print out the recipes Go to the store and buy the groceries Put the recipes in the bag of groceries Take them to someone who needs them
(If you don't know where to take them, check out THIS LINK to find a food pantry in your area. Tell them you are from Planet Gumbo E-mail me telling me what you have done. Share the list and recipes with friends Feel good.
