THE HOLIDAY SEASON IS HERE AND WE'VE GOT THE GIFTS FOR YOUR SHOPPING LIST. First of all, some of you have been asking for a Planet Gumbo Alternative Gift Card. Well, Planet Gumbo Board Vice Chairman Jay Ter Louw designed a
great gift card which we will send in your name to your friends and
family with a donation to Planet Gumbo. Visit Planet Gumbo or call the office at 850-425-2805 and know
that your gifts this year will really make a difference.
And the Sauce Boss store is always open with plenty of hot sauce, T-shirts,
CD's (Now's the time to send 2004's "Come and Get It" CD to Aunt
Stella), or order a case of hot sauce as stocking stuffers for your
office mates.

SASHIMI AVOCADO WITH MISO PERSIMMON SAUCE
(Pictured here with Baked Red Roe and Salmon filet on a bed of fresh
mangos, topped with homemade Salsa)
OK...Mix a single cup packet of low sodium instant Miso soup with a smushed
up persimmon- one thats so gushy that it slips and slides all over the
place. If you can't find a persimmon that ripe, You can use a little
bit of fresh orange, or any juicy fruit.
Cut the avocados in 1/4 inch slices, pour the sauce over them, and eat
'em.

Once in a while I go bad--that is, I go off my diet. The Ridgewood Barbecue, just out side of Bristol, Tennessee, is one of the few places that leads me down the path to degradation. |

PLANET GUMBO TOOK IT TO THE STREETS in downtown Tallahassee on Saturday November 13th with "The Sauce Boss Serving the Whole Community". We blocked off Adams Street and brought in a stage and sound system. We invited both the local townspeople, along with the homeless folks to join in on a gumbo feast that they will all long remember. Two television news crews came to cover the event, which coincided with the local homeless coalition service day (Above photo shows Planet Gumbo volunteers serving salad and gumbo lunch, with oranges from the Sauce Boss house, at Homeless Service Day.). Many thanks to all the media and businesses that contributed to the events, and to the many volunteers who helped, and to the Downtown Marketplace, who co-sponsored the event.
SAFE HARBOR SEAFOOD MARKET
4378 OCEAN STREET, A1A MAYPORT VILLAGE (904-246-4911)
Here I am looking at the menu from Safe Harbor, and I'm getting hongry! This is the kind of place where ya go in, pick out yer fish, and either take it home, or have it cooked right there in the market. Sit down with some dynamite smoked fish dip, or have a fresh Florida lobster, or how 'bout steamed clams.
Though they do fry, They are not yer typical southern fried shrimp house, the "Harbor" offers seared tuna over spinach- 6 oz. with a ginger dressing, carrot and daikon ribbons, red onion and toasted sesame seeds. Fish can be fried, grilled, steamed, blackened, or raw. Fish or shrimp tacos, fish or shrimp sandwiches, crab cake sandwich, or check out the roast beef sandwich. And I quote, "Thin sliced, warmed just slightly, with cheddar cheese, datil pepper and horseradish sauces on a house baked roll with lettuce, tomato, and onion."
These people like to eat, and eat goood! If you are in the area northeast of Jax... hey! even if you're not, it's worth the trip to get the real fresh seafood, cooked to perfection.
