PLANET GUMBO SPONSORS A SPECIAL EVENT ON NOVEMBER 13 TH IN TALLAHASSEE, AS PART OF NATIONAL HOMELESSNESS AWARENESS MONTH
The Board of Directors of Planet Gumbo are fixing lunch for 300-500 individuals and family members who are experiencing homelessness as part of a Homeless Service Day sponsored by the Tallahassee Coalition for the Homeless. Along with lunch, The Sauce Boss will be performing in the street, at the corner of Adams and Park as part of Tallahassee’s weekly Downtown Marketplace, which is adjacent to the Service Day site. Information and representatives of local homeless service providers will also be available. The Sauce Boss show will be “Serving the Whole Community” and will have gumbo for everyone. This is a big project for us and we could use a little help from our friends. If you are interested in volunteering, please call the Planet Gumbo office at 850-425-2805 or email to info@planetgumbo.org .
LEE'S KOREAN BISTRO
211 E. COLONIAL DRIVE ORLANDO, FL 32801(407-425-3900) Mon - Fri 11:00 to 10:00 Sat - Sun 12:00 to 10:00
If you haven't tried Korean cuisine, you need to run on down to yer nearest Kimchee connection ASAP! It's funky, spicy--by some standards it's darned near rotten. Kimchee never goes bad, it just gets…"different". There's a lot of down home culture in the food from Korea. Like farmers and fishermen using every thing eatable, and again, by some standards, inedible. For example, when I ate at Lee's, I had the Sashimi Sting Ray (with the cartilage included) in a hot, sweet, and tangy BBQ sauce. Absolutely Deeeelish! Although it may be beyond the pale of some picky eaters, a little adventure sometimes pays off. And it really pays off at Lee's Korean Bistro. Great food, great price, great selection. If you prefer meat, Chicken, Pork, or Beef Bulgogi will fill the bill. The Stone Pot Soup is a broth sublime, and the six little dishes of assorted Kimchee…well, I had to take a large container of Kimchee to go. (which I finished off in one day. Nuff said?
