The Sauce Boss media blitz is hitting hard in November.
End of the year articles in three national publications
are featuring Bill Wharton. "Chile Pepper" Magazine
has something, and "Blues Revue" critiques the new CD,
Sky Blues. (Get "Sky Blues at .)
But the coup of the whole chicken coup is an article
and interview in… get this… are you ready?… I'm talkin
'bout "GOURMET" Magazine!
EL FARO RESTAURANT
823 GREENWICH STREET NEW YORK, N.Y. 10014 (212)
929-8210
For over seventy years El Faro has been serving Spanish
entres, steaks and chops, chicken and fish, soups and
salads, along with tapas and the best sangria this side
of Spain. It's located at the corner of Horatio and
Greenwich in the Village. This dark and comfy little
hole in the wall is eat up with charm and grace. El
Faro is a best kept secret. As a matter of fact, I hesitate
to tell anyone about it. I wouldn't want it to get too
popular- then I'll never get a seat! But this stuff
is soooo good I've got to tell somebody. Try the green
sauce. The Paella is heavenly. Along with the FLAN!
If you're lucky enough to time it right, the strolling
band will serenade your table, joined by the singing
waiter, belting out classic Spanish tunes to the delight
of everyone in the place.
I FOUND A GREAT CHILE PEPPER CONNECTION while
playing the Brooklyn Botanic Garden Chile Fiesta. These
guys grow and ship plants all over the place. Rare and
unusual along with your typical Jalapenos, Habaneros,
Bells, and whatnot. They have a real passion for their
work. Cross Country Nurseries. P.O. Box 170 199 Kingwood-Locktown
