"I'M SORRY ABOUT THE SMELL; I'M COOKING."
--SEUNG HWAN LEE
These were the first words I ever heard from Seung (Swan) Lee, so I instantly knew I liked the guy. He was cooking up his supper in the back of his store, the "New Seoul Oriental Market" (1415 Timberlane Road #117, Market Square, Tallahassee, Florida. Phone 850-906-9211). From Korea--the land of kim chee--Seung Lee is right at home making all kinds of stinky, fermenting veggies. And dispensing every kind of exotic edibles from octopus to sea urchin eggs, ginseng and other unimaginable stuff to eat. All your sushi needs and more. But the great thing about shopping at "Swan's" is that he takes time to help you find what you want and he relishes in "talking food". So a trip to his grocery store becomes an adventure. Seoul food, yeah!

THE GUMBO GETS A NEW INGREDIENT After signing an endorsement deal with Southern Comfort, the Sauce Boss and The Ingredients are about to hit the road for a summer tour. Included is a major media promotion and a June 22 performance at New York's South Street Seaport on a specially constructed set of a classic Southern front porch, for a big ol' Southern style gumbo party. Southern Comfort will be featuring the gumbo all summer as the porch travels around the country. We're also heading for a steamboat festival in Peoria, IL. Keep an eye on our updated schedule at for more details .

GIFT BOX FROM THE SAUCE BOSS
We spent a long time working on the custom design for our own little boxed set which contains two bottles of Liquid Summer Hot Sauce (one Habanero and one Datil Pepper) and our "Recipes" CD / Multimedia Cookbook. It would be a great Father's Day present. Right now you can order one. We walked into Peppers of Key West on Front Street last week in the middle of a Sauce Boss gift box buying frenzy. They're also the first Internet vendor to offer our "Best of the Sauce Boss" CD. If you are ever in Key West, stop by and chat. I guarantee you'll spend at least 20 minutes there, talking and sampling their hot stuff. Tell them, we said hi!
